Highly sought-after new homes have been unveiled at iconic London landmark, Television Centre. The Ariel is the first collection of homes in the final phase of the White City development.

The former headquarters of BBC programming, Television Centre has been reimagined as a vibrant, mixed-use quarter where heritage meets innovation. Several popular shows are still recorded at the studios on-site operated by the BBC Studioworks, including ITV’s Good Morning Britain, Loose Women, The Graham Norton Show and The Jonathan Ross Show.

At West London’s most recognised mixed-use destination developed by Mitsui Fudosan UK and development manager, Stanhope, The Ariel presents an exciting new chapter for Television Centre. Set for completion in 2027, The Ariel will stand distinct as a 23-storey tower comprising a curated collection of 167 homes, ranging from studios to stylish one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses. The only standalone tower in the development, the homes will offer expansive views of London’s skyline in all directions and will become a landmark for Television Centre which largely comprises a series of low-rise buildings.

Designed by RIBA Stirling Prize-winning architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM), with interiors by MSMR Architects, the homes will be as illustrious as their heritage.

In the heart of White City, amenities within The Ariel include a lobby with co-working space, wellness suite with a treatment room, yoga and Pilates studios, an 8th floor residents’ lounge and bar with adjacent private meeting/dining room overlooking a Gillespies designed roof terrace. The amenity spaces have been designed by Tatjana von Stein to feel like a natural extension of the home with a hospitality feel, complete with bespoke furnishings that elevate daily living, plus invite creativity and expression. Residents will also have access to a lounge and screening room in an adjacent building and the sought-after Soho House (White City House) managed gym and swimming pool in the completed part of the development.

Named after the spirit of air in Shakespeare’s The Tempest and the weekly staff newspaper published by the BBC, residents of The Ariel will find themselves at the centre of a dynamic creative community with world-class dining and entertainment on their doorstep.

Television Centre is already home to 10 drinking and dining spots, including Michelin-starred ‘Endo at Rotunda’, widely-popular ‘Kricket’ and ‘The Broadcaster’ gastropub. Furthermore, residents are on the doorstep of a vast retail offering. Over 350 retail outlets can be found at Westfield London, the largest shopping centre in Europe, and fashionable Holland Park and Notting Hill are just moments away with their numerous boutiques, restaurants, galleries, parks and the famous Portobello Road Market, that offer endless weekends of discovery.

Robert Kemlo, Development Director at Mitsui Fudosan UK, said: “We are extremely proud of the design quality achieved by this exceptional team and we are delighted to show our residents and the market what we have been working on. The Television Centre masterplan has always aspired to the very best world-class design and reflects our long-term, multi-decade commitment to – and investment in – the area.”

Peter Allen, Director of Sales and Marketing at Stanhope, said: “We are excited to be unveiling The Ariel, the first collection of homes in the final phase of Television Centre. An elegant new addition to the development, this standout tower will not only offer residents a home, but will also be a place where they can express themselves. The rich heritage of Television Centre, coupled with its ‘West is Best’ location and premium amenities, makes The Ariel a unique opportunity for those seeking to be part of the existing vibrant, creative community.”

Tatjana von Stein, interior designer for The Ariel, commented: “It’s been a wonderful opportunity to be part of the great transformation of this historic landmark with such a unique cultural heritage. Our aim for The Ariel was to design the amenity spaces as an extension of a home, but with a touch of hospitality – they’re catalysts for expression and creativity, truly embodying the spirit of Television Centre and its residents.”

Television Centre also neighbours growing business hub, White City Place, so residents of The Ariel can rub shoulders with leaders in fashion, technology, broadcasting and life sciences – the office space is occupied by the likes of the BBC, Yoox-Net-a-Porter, L’Oreal, Novartis and more. The development also sits in close proximity to the globally renowned educational institutions, Imperial College and Royal College of Art, which foster the next generation of upcoming talent.

Television Centre occupies a prime London position located opposite Wood Lane and White City stations. The famous site is served by three underground lines, the Overground and bus lines, providing access to Holland Park in 4-minutes, Paddington in just 8-minutes, King’s Cross in 18-minutes and Liverpool Street in 25-minutes. For international connectivity, Heathrow Airport is only 30-minutes away.

Knight Frank and Savills are joint sales agents for the second phase of Television Centre.
