Mitsui Fudosan UK Ltd (‘Mitsui Fudosan’) has announced it has appointed Tomoo Nakamura as Managing Director, effective from 1 June 2020.

Tomoo succeeds Eiichiro Onozawa who is returning to Mitsui Fudosan’s Tokyo business, following four years managing and growing the property company’s UK and European arm.

Tomoo boasts over 27 years’ global real estate experience and joined Mitsui Fudosan in 1993. During his time at the company he has headed up its Asia Pacific business in Tokyo and has also held the positions of Deputy Managing Director of Mitsui Fudosan (Asia) and Managing Director of the company’s Thailand operation. Tomoo will draw on his experience to further expand the business’s portfolio in Europe, working in close partnership with Stanhope plc, in which Mitsui Fudosan UK has a stake.

During his tenure, Eiichiro successfully and significantly grew Mitsui Fudosan UK’s presence, having delivered landmark projects including the transformation of Television Centre from the BBC’s former home to a vibrant residential and leisure destination and the re-imagining of White City Place into a dynamic business hub. Eiichiro also oversaw the completion of 1 Angel Court, a mixed-use office development in the heart of the City of London.

Mitsui Fudosan UK also announces that it is moving its London office to Cassini House at 57-58 St James’s Street, London later this month.
